Steven Boyd
After studying at Memorial University in Newfoundland and gaining valuable experience in the financial industry, Steve launched his career with IG Wealth Management in 1987. That same year, the global financial world was shaken by Black Monday—a historic market crash that tested even the most seasoned professionals. For Steve, it became a defining moment, shaping his approach to financial planning and resilience. He considers it one of the most powerful learning curves of his career.
Throughout the year, Steve actively supports IG Wealth Management’s community initiatives, including the IG Walk for Alzheimer’s. His commitment to giving back extends beyond corporate events—he’s a passionate advocate for The Single Parents Association of Newfoundland and Labrador, a local charity dedicated to empowering single parents and their children.
When he's not working or volunteering, Steve embraces the rugged beauty of Newfoundland. You’ll often find him at his cottage around the bay, exploring the outdoors on his snowmobile or ATV. Whether it’s fishing, hunting, or simply soaking in nature, Steve finds balance and inspiration in the wilderness.
Ian Barrett CPA, CA, CFP®, RRC
Ian has been a dedicated Financial Consultant with IG Wealth Management in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador since November 2008. With dual designations as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP) and Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Ian brings a wealth of expertise to his clients. Before joining IG, he spent several years in public accounting, earning his Chartered Accounting (CA) designation in Nova Scotia in 2005.
Originally from Bay Roberts, Ian ventured to Nova Scotia to pursue his undergraduate studies at Acadia University. After several years away, he returned home to Newfoundland in 2007, where he now resides in Conception Bay South with his wife, Roxanne, and their two children, Andrew and Kaitlyn.
Outside the office, Ian is a familiar face at the rink and ball field, often found coaching his kids’ teams and cheering from the sidelines. His commitment to family and community shines through in everything he does.
